Just back from a 7 day trip to Grand Turk, Half Moon cay, and Freeport, Bahamas. Baltimore terminal was fine, quick unloading of luggage, short wait to board. We have sailed on the Pride previously, so weren't expecting to be wowed when we boarded. Our cabin was always clean, just starting to look a bit worn. We found all the crew to be extremely helpful and friendly, and our cabin steward went above and beyond to provide us excellent service.
We were not all that impressed with the main dining room, seemed like service was slow, and the food blasé, often cold. We did spend an evening dining at the steak house (David's) and were very pleased with the service and food preparation and quality. We also enjoyed the lido deck restaurant's, the food selection was excellent, and after many cruises, we seem to know the best times to arrive to get the food we want and find seats. The pizza Pirate was great, as was Guy's Burger Joint.
We had no problem finding seats for the comedy shows, but again, after several cruises, we know the drill to get one. The comics were good, and the drinks were strong. The shows in the Taj Mahal were okay at the most, dancing was very good, but the female singers seemed to try a bit too hard, overdoing most of the vocals, often ruining the song being sung. The game shows, and music trivia games were fun, our Cruise Director Schwartz was high energy and friendly any time we saw him on the cruise, even directing passengers getting back on ship in Freeport, where there was a huge back-up and long line waiting to re board.
Been cruising for over 10 years now, the Carnival cabins still look the same as the first time. Clean, but dated and worn.
Easy driving access, quick luggage unloading and parking, boarded with no trouble.
Beautiful scenery, leisurely pace, great staff at excursion, friendly horses!
