We chose this cruise because we went to Norway on the Balmoral 3 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We wanted to see the Baltic capitals, so when we saw it advertised in the brochure of our local tour operator (Johnsons Travel, who we know run an excellent door to door servce) we immediately booked.
The problems started within2 hours of us sailing when we had to turn back to Newcastle as someone was taken ill (I'm applauding, not criticising, this for the sake of the family affected, but it just seemed to set the scene as a bad omen for the rest of the cruise!)
To start with a positive: the entertainmet was excellent. Brenda Collins is a natural comedian, Jon Moses a fantastic singer, and Chris Gee a good all rounder; plus all the onboard team provided excellent shows.

Could have been laid out better as one of the beds had no bedside table (L shaped configuration).
Because of the problems the bathroom was regularly cleaned and the linen changed, but the carpet wasn't vacuumed at all during our stay and the table base thick with dust. NOT BLAMING THE LADY WHO CLEANED, she just didn't have enough time to do a thorough job!
