We hadn't been to some of the islands on this itinerary and wanted to re-visit others. The ship is slightly smaller than some of the "Millennium" class ships and has a more intimate feel. The public spaces seem less crowded and the staff seems less hurried than on some of the larger ships. We had sailed on the "Summit" before and wished to enjoy the new retrofitting, particularly in "Aquaclass" and the yummy "Blu" restaurant. The outside windows could have used a good washing however, as could our veranda glass. The service was outstanding, the food excellent, and the new female captain (Kate) quite personable! The value for the money is always exceptional on Celebrity. When disembarking in San Juan grab a porter for your luggage and you'll be zipped through customs - well worth the five dollar tip to get through an otherwise tedious disembarkation! Recommend allowing plenty of time for departing the San Juan airport, as can be backed-up as long as two hours waiting on the "agricultural" and TSA checkpoints. A good book will help. Can't wait to cruise again!
We book "Aquaclass" cabins more for the excellent "Blu" restaurant than anything else. For my tastes I prefer cabins a bit lower on the ship, as there's less motion and pool noise, but for these short inter island hops a higher cabin is fine. The stateroom was very comfortable and convenient to the spa, the showers are a blast, and the room stewards were excellent!
Casino Hilton expensive, nice infinity pool near dock.
