I had gone on 2 cruises a long ago but my husband had not gone on any. We could not go on a cruise prior to our retirement due to the need to always be connected to the internet and regular communication with our office staff. We retired earlier this year and with our new found freedom, getting on a cruise was of very high priority. Timesharing for about 3 months spread throughout the year was our norm.
We are in our 50s/60s, like quiet and peaceful environment and are foodies. We selected the liner very carefully. Not wanting to pay for the top of the line cruise for my husband's first cruise, we chose Celebrity as we felt that it fit the profile. We are non-smokers, enjoy lectures/presentation/theater/arts and we are foodies.
We had a great balcony room although we did not use much of the balcony other than to check the outside temperature as it was quite cold in June. The layout of the room was very efficient and we did not feel that the 190+ sq f room was too small although we are used to staying in 1200-1600 sq ft 2BR villa whenever we vacation.
Seattle was fine.
