In 2015 we booked this cruise because the itinerary included Sardinia and Corsica but before departure we were advised Sardinia had been replaced with a call at Barcelona and later received notification that Corsica was replaced with a call at Toulon. When I wrote a letter of complaint I was told these changes were considered to be "minor changes". They're not minor in my book. The reason given for the Sardinia cancellation was because construction work had not been completed at the port (you can hardly blame R.C. for that). The Corsica cancellation was because the ship couldn't fit in the port - something the Royal Caribbean planning team should have spotted immediately and not after folks had booked cruises.
At most ports there was a need for shuttle buses to ferry passengers to the dock entrance and Royal Caribbean imposed a charge of 5 or 10 euros. Other cruise companies do not charge for shuttle buses and such charges would soon amount to a considerable cost for a family with a couple of kids.
I inquired if there were any excursion for people with limited mobility but the Manager of Shore Excursions they had stopped them because there was never sufficient numbers. My on board observation was that there were a fairly high proportion of passengers using mobility scooters on board and also many people who were reliant on at least one walking stick, surely some would have appreciated an escorted bus ride to some of the cities we visited!
good
The Rock remains much the same as it was when I first visited in 1961
Did the R.C excursion to St Tropez and was very satisfied
Took the shuttle bus to town (10 or 15 Euros). It was Sunday and many shops closed. We had an overnight stay which would be good if you are an all night Majorca clubber but personally I would have preferred the extra time somewhere else
Wandered around the city and the park next to the waterfront, Very plaesant
boarding was well managed
