We had a fantastic time on our Liberty of the Seas cruise to the Western Caribbean May 1-8.
We tried an interior promenade room this time rather than our usual balcony room. It was great! We were initially concerned about noise from the Royal Promenade but it was no problem. We never heard anything from the RP - no parade, band, nothing! The soundproofing in the room worked great. The only real sounds we ever heard were occasional passersby in the hallway - which you'll hear no matter where your room is!
The loveseat/window seat overlooking the Royal Promenade was great for peeking down on the scene. Had a great view of Cafe Promenade and could make sure my husband was still down there before heading down in the morning for coffee and pastries.
Great location overlooking Cafe Promenade. Good views of the activities below without the noise. We could see a band playing down there but could not hear it in the room at all. Wonderful window seat and big bay window looking over Royal Promenade.
One suggestion RCI - the glasstop table by the loveseat and window seat is not really needed. Removing it would add some needed floor space to the room.
Wandered around the area near the port and there's nothing to do but shop. Was a super hot day and with the waits associated with tendering, we wished we'd chosen an excursion.
We did take the RCI transport from Houston airport to the cruise port in Galveston and then back again at the end of the cruise. The bus was very nice and not crowded. Comfortable ride after a long flight. Enjoyable.
