Embarcation was a breeze as we had elected to arrive close to the time we could board and were able to leave our carry on bags in our cabin, which was already prepared.

Spirit is a relatively small and older ship so if you are looking for climbing walls and water slides you will be disappointed, we loved the promonade deck which was well used by walkers (4 laps=1.4 miles), the Atrium with its elegant staircase and the galaxy lounge with amazing views and some fun photo opportunities.

Eating options were varied; the pool side BBQ often had some impressive offerings, salmon, clam chowder and Bouillabaisse were all highlights. The buffet was not huge but had a good range of salads, a carving station and a selection of hot dishes which I did not see repeated in our 14 day cruise but we did not eat in there every day. Breakfast in the buffet had all the usual including smoked salmon, seating could be an issue if the weather was really cold but there is a lot of outdoor seating which was our preference. The Main dining room was like a nice restaurant and with freestyle we could enjoy dinner for two at a time to suit us, portions were generous and our food was on the whole excellent. Staff could not have been more helpful.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Oceanview Picture Window

Cabin OB

A spacious Cabin with lots of storage and a mini fridge (ask your steward to empty the bar contents out so you can keep your water cold).Surprisingly a UK power socket as well as US and German. only down side was no bedside table on one side but the deep window sill worked fine. good sized shower cubicle and excellent bathroom layout (Epic take note) with toilet and shower in separate cubicles within the bathroom.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Easy embarkation

St. Thomas

We docked at Crown Bay and took the local water taxi $10 return to Honeymoon beach on water island. very easy to do and much better than the excursion which only gave 1hr on the breach.

Madeira (Funchal)

We had planned to take the cable car but it was misty so stayed in the town which is beautiful and the dock is so close to the centre of things

St. Maarten

$20 for 2 chairs an umbrella and 6 beers sorted out our day! lovely water and friendly people.
