Sail Date: Mar 2016
Cabin: Courtyard Villa with Balcony
Traveled with children

Travelling as a party of 5 made up of two adults, a 11, 9 and 2 year old in this room and grandparents also travelled with us in a separate room. First impression this is a big ship and even 10 days in I didn't feel like I knew everything that was on it. It was a full cruise for our sailing which did bring with it some issues and I think the stress was clear in some of the staff.

Great pool area for both the older and younger kids, the slides are good fun as is the mini splash golf however it is a difficult pool to watch children due to the size and the lack of lounging space around.

The spider mountain never appeared too be open but the rock-climbing was daily at certain times and the staff on this activity were friendly and helpful (shoes are provided)

Cabin Review

Courtyard Villa with Balcony

Cabin H4

This cabin is lovely but there are small niggles that let such a lovely cabin down that ncl could quickly put right.

The biggest problem with our cabin was the sliding door between the living room and the bedroom, we had rough seas and the door would slam both open and shut and bang back and forth throughout the night. we reported the issue to the butler who thought someone had been to fix but they hadn't and when the eventually the following day they came they where only able to resolve the issue with the banging against the frame but it would still slide open and shut so we eventually wedged the door with a pillow but this meant the door was open to the living room.

The phone in the bedroom and the living room have a light that is switched on and off by touch screen however ours would switch itself on during the night which would wake me and then it would struggle to switch it off.

The curtain between the bedroom and the bathroom should have been made longer (on the jade it was a large oversized curtain that blocked the light) where as this only just touched the floor and as it goes to the wardrobe there is not a neat way of blocking light. (we ended up wedging the curtain into the cupboard to stop the light)

The wardrobe in the second bedroom are against the headboard for the main room, for two nights we had repeatative banging, turned out to be a hanger in the childrens room at the back of the wardrobe was unused and was banging against the wooden wall.

There is also some noise from posh although this was closed normally, on the last night of this cruise people where up on posh in the early hours 2am and we had to call to ask for noise to be kept down.

Despite the above it is a lovely room and would book again but I would take a door wedge to resolve the door issue as the slamming became very frustrating.
