This is the first review I have ever written regarding a vacation but considering our experience, I felt it was necessary. My family and I have taken numerous cruises with Disney and Royal and after last years cruise on Royal's Allure with a noticeable slide in customer service than what we have been acclimated to, we decided when planning this cruise with ourselves along with other friends from local and out of state that we would take this opportunity to hop aboard the Escape for our first ever NCL cruise and will definitely be our last.

Please keep in mind, ALL of our past cruises have been taken over Spring Break so we are used to (and having 2 girls of our own 15 and 13) the typical crowds and masses of kids but this was out of control. Lack of security!! Kids sitting in the elevator doorways, hanging in stairwells, underage drinking and running in the halls at all hours of the nights completely out of control with no security to be found anywhere (yes I agree the parents are accountable for their kids actions and the crew should not be babysitters).

Upon embarkation, we had chosen the 12-12:30 hour to board but upon arrival, we were led to 2 different waiting areas prior to boarding and did not physically board the ship until after 2pm. My advice, save yourself the time and pick a later boarding time. Our room was ready upon arrival and as expected (mini suite with balcony) and very nice. Throughout the week we never met our room steward and more often than not our room was not cleaned )we went 2 straight days without it being cleaned even with our please clean room button lit and it was the days we were in St. Thomas and Tortola so no excuse!! One of the draws to us picking this ship was the Margaritaville theme, it proved to be nothing even close aside from the menu which served the typical chains fare but nothing else about the outdoor dining area proved that of the well known chain. Food was good, service was fair but keep in mind, you will pay menu pricing as it is not included in the free portion of your food package.

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M4

Cabin was nice with spacious bathroom, balcony and bunk beds. Service to cabin was poor.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Maegens Bay - Family friendly beach with beautiful sites. 3rd time here and would go back

Parasailing - Excellent time. Short but excellent and friendly crew. Be prepared to pay extra if you want photos. They do not permit you to take pictures onboard.

St. Thomas

Tortola

Island tour in open air taxi pleasant. Cane Bay Beach was a waste. They charge was chair usage and wasn't very clean. Very underwhelming.
