I just returned from a 7 night cruise on the NCL Escape. I do not usually spend time writing or blogging about things like this but I feel that the reviews of this ship that i perused prior to sailing are not reflective of this ship. We ate at Cagneys, Moderno, Teppanyaki, La Cuchina, Manhatten room, Taste, Savior, O'Sheehans, garden Cafe. Everyone of these offered EXCELLENT Food. Superior to previous ships including Epic, Jade, Jewel, etc. The staff was quite cordial and friendly and I did not encounter One rude staff member. MDQ was fantastic and Brat Pack was OK, did not see after midnight. The casino was a little smokey near some slots but not really noticeable and i Hate smoke (History of metastatic tongue cancer with radical neck surgery---no i never smoked in my life). We always get the spa package and it is worth it. Many times my wife commented on "Where are all of the people At" This is a large ship but I never felt cramped. There is so many activities to do that you are never bored. There are chair hogs but there are numerous places you can sun (H20 and upper level sun deck that most passengers do not venture. We were unable to secure a Vibe Pass but did not have to worry about privacy or children. They have plenty of activities for kids and the water park-Splash zone along with slides keep kids occupied.
The craps tables run hot and cold and I walked off with 3500.00 not too bad. Tornament poker was every day and fun but to many rebuys allowed.
The bands were average with the exception of the manhattan room and the Air Band. The solo Pianists Juan and Darren were excellent. I have no complaints about the entertainment except the Howl at the Moon was not as good as I have seen in other establishments.
