Carnival Valor Cruise Review by maine54
- Sail Date: March 2016
- Destination: Southern Caribbean
Our balcony room was well kept and room stewards were great. The shows and entertainment were very good. Stop at Coasta Maya was too brief and we found the tourist shop staff very aggressive. This port could have been skipped as it mainly benefited the gift shops.
The food served was mediocre at best and a $30 up charge for a steak restaurant was absurd!
As with most cruise lines, we felt that Carnival was always trying to find a way to get us to run up our tab. It was relentless.
Embarking and disembarking process went very well.
For the price we paid, soft drinks should be free.
Carnival Valor is an old ship but was in pretty good shape!
Lastly, excursion prices should include the price of equipment needed for the excursion. You should have not to pay extra for wet shoes or lockers.
Not sure about future cruising? We've done 6 or 7 and may just book direct trip vacations for a while.
