Cabin: Balcony

This was my first and last cruise on a Carnival ship. I prefer Royal Caribbean! Let me begin. We had a balcony room mid ship; cabin 8259. I loved the balcony. I did not like the layout of the ship.

The promenade deck was level 5; but it was not a straight through promenade. Part of the floor was accessible via this elevator and then the other was via another.

The entertainment was poor. On the Royal I was used to a show in the theater every night. I purposely selected the early dining time so we could attend the evening show. There was 2 evening shows in the theater. The last one was cancelled because of the rough seas. Other offerings were a comedy show, but it would reach maximum capacity so that was off limits. The casino, I'm not a gambler and can't stand the smoke! They offered bingo almost every night; again I'm not a gambler. There were trivia games and other non-real entertainment. I was looking for dancing, music variety type shows.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Nice city, nice things to visit. Historic districts, homes, island etc.

Montego Bay

He took us to the Rose Hall Great House and gave us a great tour of the city; beyond the tourist locations.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Cramped hot mini van, and just drove by locations.

Cozumel

Great cab driver, took us to the Mayan ruins, waited on us and drove us around the city.
