This was our first cruise of any kind. The staff was exemplary and the service outstanding. The variety and quality of the food was truly unexpected. This was not buffet food, but fine restaurant preparations and presentations. The included daily tours were informative and fun with more than enough time for individual exploring (something that was essential to me and my wife). The listening devices were marvelous allowing for photography while the group moved on without missing a beat.

We only opted for two of the extra cost excursions (one to Sauterne and one specially arranged by the concierge for tastings at more vineyards) and they was well worth the cost. Other guests expressed their pleasure with their extra excursions (Cognac and Oysters). Almost needed another day. Also despite never having cruised my wife and I are experienced world travelers, and a great surprise was the level of travel experience of our fellow passengers. The un-assigned meal seating encouraged a great interchange making the trip even more enjoyable.

The whole ship including the decor was new and elegant. The room was efficient and we loved the bathroom. WiFi access was adequate, but occasionally frustrating, but hell we were on vacation. Access to the port cities was incredibly convenient allowing for a lot of local wanderings. Read more
