After reading many reviews here on cruise critic, i was nervous to travel 14 nights on the Breakaway. but who ever wrote anything bad, must simply have nothing better to do than complain. We went on our honeymoon, booked 12 days.. Norwegian, changed destination and upgraded everyone to a 14 night cruise, San Juan, St Thomas, Tortola, St. Martin, Antigua, Barbados, Martinique and Domenica. From the time we arrived on the ship, we were greeting with a very "welcoming, smiling crew". The cruise director.. Scott Michelonis was outstanding, so entertaining. his team, Ashe and Orlando etc.. had us laughing, dancing every night and even joining in crazy fun game shows. Even Bingo wasn't boring..omg, in order to win the prize (and they'd throw in extra raffles for free), you had to go up and dance to receive your prize.. Every night, there was a theme party for young or old.. and the cast stayed and danced with us.. they didn't just perform...they made us all enjoy every moment on board that ship. You had to simply Break me away from my room, we had a junior suite and were offered 6 days before sailing to upgrade to a haven spa jr suite. OK.. Haven, no lets call it heaven. A jacuzzi in our room by the balcony. Anoop our concierge, greeted everyone every day with a smile, I'm a vegetarian *aka pain in the ass". He made sure the dining room would give me any entree i wanted..just had to ask. Joanne in the dining room, always greeting us with a smile. Our butler and room steward, outstanding and even in the Atrium lounge.. the waitstaff, would bring us drinks and dance along with us. Natalia in the gift store, such a ray of sunshine. We laughed, we danced, we saw a rainbow over the ocean like i've never seen before. We left NYC and never felt the ship shimmy, only one day coming home we felt the ship hitting some waves..but the crew all said "don't be nervous, drink.. cause it makes you walk straight".. always a smile.. always willing to help, The Spa, amazing, the food delicious, the drinks.. unlimited. Every destination, more beautiful than the last.. my favorite.. the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel in Antigua, the pirate jolly rodger in Barbados sail, lunch party.. The waterfalls in Domenica where we swam in a rain forest, the Catamaran to the Jost Van Dyke Island, St Martin with the airplanes that fly directly over your head to the city where you can have the best croissant in the world at Sarafinas, and orient beach.. The shopping ..omg.. fun~ and my favorite restaurant stop and the funnest place in the planet. Senor Frogs, San Juan and Senor Frogs, St Thomas.. these two restaurants are on the pier right by the ship, when you enter.. prepare to have fun..prepare to be "family" prepare to dance or eat and drink or sit and simply watch..the fun.. they welcome you like no restaurant in the world.. the service is simply the best, the food (its delicious and very affordable).. you never wanna leave.. all i can say is that the Breakaway blew me away.. even the shows. Cirque di soleil and the Oh what a Night, frankie valle show.. amazing.. The fun participation game shows.. deal or no deal, dancing like a Norwegian like dancing with the stars.. with a Lozzzzzzzzzzer lounge when a couple was booted off, to the perfect couple show.. omg.. simply hilarious.. and if you weren't looking for hilarity.. all you had to do is go to the spa and soak in their phenominal pool, or lay on a lounge chair.. we upgrade to the best and it was worth it..but we were all over the ship. It devoured us, we loved every minute aboard and I have not one complaint.. Clean... happy, fun,, even the "goodbye show" was courteous, when you leave they tell you "now youre Norwegian family".. We met people from all aspects of life, we had a haven room and spent time there but we were every where because on that ship.., everyone is made to feel equally as important..So much to do, my husband climbed the ropes challenge and walked the plank omg, he's crazy. 49 and crazy, there were water slides, and mini gold, batmitten, and bowling, dancing, dress up or not nights, theme parties,60 parties, 70s parties, country music line dancing, 80's parties, glow night, white nights..Charlie love and the Jazz in Fat Cat club, an Ice bar. brrrr., Rock of Ages, Cirque di Soleil.. phenominal.. there were art shows, amazing excursions, amazing destinations and the water blue so beautiful blue.. singing, eating, drinking, trivia contests, cake decorating classes, dance classes, or relaxing and the friendships we made are forever.. We love the Breakaway and i think i just accomplished something from my bucket list that i never knew existed.. loved every minute, and time flew by.. if you're wondering.. should we go.. so long???????? just do it!! its a once in a lifetime thing and you wont regret it. Our friends were in balcony cabins..and the rooms were beautiful.. WE disembarked in 20 minutes.. Anoop was our concierge. he walked all of us right of the ship, Phenominal~ fun, i wish i was still aboard.. Thank you to the entire crew from the captain to the dishwashers aboard,.. Grateful and happy to have been aboard and everyone of you deserve a standing ovation.. you made our trip spectacular, .. and to think..we thought Carnival was the "fun ship"..The Breakaway blew them away.. and lastly, i'm a person who has anxiety.. if you ever wish to get over that.., go on a cruise, have a balcony cabin..listen to the waves.. the captain keeps you informed.. we had one night of a small storm.. yeah we rocked a bit..but i felt safe the entire time.. the crew, the captain and his staff are simply the best.. What an amazing time.. again, so grateful to each an every person on board that magificent ship.. our voyage was OUTSTANDING.. best honeymoon every.. thank you NCL.. and by the way Norwegian, Scott, Orlando, Ashe, and Bo.. Erica.. . made us smile, dance, sing and participate in game shows, we never thought we'd ever do.. the dancing with the stars. Norwegian style with the loozers lounge if you were booted off.. hysterical.. again, how do i say thank you to a crew that gave me and my husband the best time of our lives.. so much fun~ thank you so sincerely
