NCL got it right. What a beautiful ship. My three teen children and I shared a portside mid-ship mini-suite on deck 12. The room and balcony was bigger than the one I cruised on the Getaway. The bigger bathroom, spa shower and double sink, definitely are worth the extra $$ than a regular balcony. Activities were awesome. There were some technical issues with the drop slides, but we were able to use them many times once fixed, along with the new tube slide. The ropes course was upgraded too. Walking the planks and zipping on the skyrails was fun, as well as climbing up to the new third level. The wait was never that long.
There are bars everywhere, and never needed to wait more than 5 minutes for a drink...and this on a ship that had almost 5,000 people on it, many with the unlimited drinking package. As a Cowboys fan, I was able to watch my team, along with many other games in many spots on the ship. the highlight being on Thanksgiving, where they showed the games on the giant screens by the pool...how cool.
We had the specialty dining package and ate at a different specialty restaurant every night. The highlight for us was Teppanyaki...so good, and our chef put on quite a show. Le Bistro is always excellent, as was Cagney's (ate there twice). We ate at La Cucina outside on the Waterfront which was fun. It was a beautiful night, and you could see the full moon over the ocean. Moderno was a new treat for us as well with the waiters walking around with the various meats that they would stop and ask you if you would like more. We also tried Food Republic, which is a new tapas style restaurant with the Pub Belly's group out of Miami. The sushi rolls, Steak tacos, buffalo shrimp, and the sliders were all big hits for my kids and I.
Plenty of room for my three teen kids and I. Ample size bathroom. Room and Balcony was bigger than on the Getaway.
