This was our second cruise on Celebrity. It did not compare favourable with the first. Like others who have reviewed the Consellation we found the accommodation far below the 5 Star rating you would expect for the cost of the cruise. The bedding was torn in two places and the sheets were threadbare. Worse, a single size top sheet was used as the top sheet for a king size bed. It was very uncomfortable to have your toes flicking on the side hem of the sheet and to drag your toes out of the torn areas. The bed skirt was also torn as were the drapes on the door to the verandah.
Bad as this is, the food was worse if you require a special diet. My particular vice is salt and so I have to have a salt free diet. Many people with hypertension should also be aware of salt so it is a rather common dietary restriction. The waiter gave me the menu for the following night's dinner so it could be prepared salt free. With 24 hours notice, the culinary staff on the ship could do no better than: the entree, naked on the plate, no sauces, salsa's or other additions that were on the main menu, a soggy collection of carrot coins, green beans and a piece of broccoli. That was it. Every night that I ate in the dining room.
5 Star price, 2 Star service. My complaint was answered with "we will review this with the culinary staff". My next cruise is booked -- not with Celebrity.
Worth it only if you get a last minute deal and then only because it's cheaper than a hotel.
