Embarkation: This was our honeymoon cruise. We left the morning after our wedding reception. Needless to say, we were tired from a night of celebrating. Luckily, embarkation was simple. I was surprised as I left out of Manhattan 10 years ago on the NCL Dawn. It was an absolute nightmare. We waited hours to get on the boat. This was a major improvement in the NCL cruise port. My new husband and I handed off our luggage, showed our cruise documents and boarded the NCL Breakaway. In fifteen minutes, we were eating lunch in the Garden Cafe. We did have priority check-in. This was a plus.

The Breakaway: The ship is absolutely beautiful. The staff is constantly working to keep it clean. On the first day we explored the boat and discovered some favorite bars and spots to relax. If you make your way to the forward of the ship on the pool deck, you will find Vibes beach bar. The bartender here makes great drinks. It's easier to get service here. The main pool bar can get crowded. In the front of the boat on the 16th floor there are cushioned lounge chairs. Most people don't know about them. We loved lounging in this spot with a cold Miami Vice. :) Hint**If you become lost on your floor the fish on the carpet always swim forward. This will help you to know which direction you are walking in.
