My family of four (2 teenagers) sailed round trip Alaska out of Seattle. Embarkation was a breeze and flowed like a well oiled machine. First day at sea was delightful- explored ship and enjoyed music and wonderful sea breezes. We had full drink package for four- a must have! Some people complain in reviews about paying for water bottles but most people on our ship had water bottles they refilled. Beverage despensers are always available, as are bars. I'm diabetic and I drink a ton of water and never did I want for a beverage. As for alcohol - we don't really drink but the beverage package is still worthwhile for a couple drinks and unlimited soda, etc.
The cabin was family window, no balcony. No complaints other than usual wear and tear was evident. It got a little warm a couple of times. Very clean. Tons of storage-honest-and bathroom was ample for us. Restaurants were great although I avoided the big buffet because of noise and little kids. Hubby and kids ate there for snacks and some lunches. You don't have to dress up for the dining rooms which was great. The Tsar was our favorite for decor and quiet. The food was good - like a decent restaurant. No 5 stars, here, which was fine for us.
Tours were worth every penny and we enjoyed the ease of booking them ahead, online, through the cruise line. Saw whales and the White Pass Rail was incredible! ! Don't miss! The views from the decks were always beautiful, especially when we saw the glacier. Victoria was cute, not thrilling. We did not go to Buchart garden. On board entertainment was fun and live music was terrific. Bandioke was so much fun, as was bingo- yes, bingo. The callers are so funny! There will always be people who find something to complain about, but we loved it all. Even doubting husband wants to cruise again. Felt like we had a second family at sea. Washy, washy, y'all.
Great. Normal wear and tear. Slept 4 with ease. Linens and beds comfy. Room got warm a couple times but we are hot natured. Eddie, our steward, was great and very efficient.
