I have been cruising with NCL for decades and am rarely upset but I have to write my first ever negative review. The staff is excellent, but NCL needs to get their act together. First, the $75 dining credit was misrepresented to us by Casinos At Sea. No one told us or showed us Anywhere In Writing prior to us inquiring about our bill that the $75 would only cover the up charge for the restaurant. This was an issue since we had dining vouchers already for affiliation with Latitudes and the casino. So, in order to use up the $150 for our incentive, we ordered lobster with our steak at Cagney's and an up charged meal at La Cocina. These charges remained on our bill because they cannot be used specifically for food items. THE FOOD was great but no one wants to fight about what was suppose to be a perk.
Second, NCL does a great job catering to families with children, but I think it is an unequal distribution of resources. Parents can bring multiple children on for free. Their food is free and so is daycare. With the exception of late night, there is no charge.
Juxtapose these benefits with middle ayers cruising and putting thousands of dollars in the slot machines. We are asked to drink sub par wine and a shrinking menu of cocktails. Of course, there is any drink to be had with an up barge. But, seriously, not even a margarita or Sav blanc can be had without Paying an upcharge. I don't think the kids' club participants are spending hundreds of dollars during each visit to the Splash Academy. It's insulting to those of us who have been loyal customers to the BCL brand for years and years
My cabin was great. 12th floor.
