As the title explains, this was not our best or our worst cruise on Royal Caribbean. Overall the ship was in great shape and well maintained by the staff, from the indoor public spaces to the pool deck. This trip was convenient being in New Jersey, and many guests were friendly, however I would like to remind all that when on vacation, this does not mean that your manners and respect are left home.

As for the accommodations, our room was located in the back of the ship (Deck 10) and was perfect for the family and had a great view. Our room attendant, Richard was excellent and responded to all our needs and requests without a problem, and the room was always clean and organized. The breakfast and lunch in the Windjammer continues to be very "basic" across the entire Royal Caribbean Line, and is sufficient, however I do wish that they "changed" some of the choices each day. Maintain the standards, but add more "choices" each day to have some variety. (I doubt this will occur, as it has been the same for years - but hope)

The Royal Promenade is an amazing part of the ship and is a daily place to visit, from sitting in one of the bars, to sitting along the center at Café Promenade. The energy in this area is great and the different "areas" (Shopping, Vintages, Sorentos, etc.) are always good places to visit. In regards to the shopping, as we have found on the other ships, the Royal Caribbean Logo gear is "lacking". As a regular cruiser on Royal Caribbean, I enjoy (and proud) to show my commitment by wearing something that has the logo on it, from hats to shirts. However, finding something on board (and website for that matter) is difficult. I was in luck on this trip to locate a Nike shirt with the Logo on it, but besides that item, nothing else exists. (I hope that Royal Caribbean changes that and has better options - a Dri-fit shirt with the Royal Caribbean name and ship would be excellent) Another disappointment was the offering of a Royal Caribbean Logo Tag Hauer watch. When we boarded the ship, they had signs posted and it was a topic of discussion one evening. I looked at the poster on the Royal Promenade and decided that I wanted this watch, and entered the store. However, when asked to see it, I was told "we don't have the men's watch on board, it might be on other ships", which was a big let down. (And poor marketing by Royal Caribbean)

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

This cabin is located on deck 10 and is the rear of the ship. First impression is that this was the largest Junior Suite that we have had on Royal Caribbean, and the balcony was "huge". Our room steward Richard was excellent and the room was always in great shape. The view was perfect when leaving NJ and also when leaving the islands. Plenty of room for storage of items. I do however suggest that the pillows and mattress be replace as they were clearly "old" and had no support. As for the doors, we did have an issue with the bathroom door not closing, but after asking Richard, it was addressed in less than an hour. Furniture was perfect for the space, though I suggest that the cabinets be adjusted as the doors don't close properly.
