I like the concept of freestyle cruising, and the Norwegian boat is very nice. The Alaska ports are absolutely breathtaking, but the cruise was not the best. The customer service depends on who you are dealing with, some are cold and seem irritated in their job. The food is terrible!

Compared to my cruises on Costa and Carnival where most everything was good, most meals in the dining room were worse than Sizzler/Hometown Buffets, bordering on inedible. The "prime rib" the last night was the worst. The meat had the consistency and texture of ham, no moisture and was the worst beef I've ever had...anywhere. We took two bites and left. Sadly, the best food was on the buffet, but that was hit-or-miss too. Food had very little seasoning and was generally of low quality.

The room and bathroom were nice. I'm a big guy and I was perfectly comfortable. The room attendant was very nice.
