We have sailed on NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We LOVE NCL. The getaway was HUGE, but totally manageable. We walked between 7 and 10 miles each day and averaged 17 flights of stairs each day but that was my choice because I needed the exercise.
We were in a Mini Suite. Very nicely appointed, clean, comfortable bed, but small balcony...as usual. We were surprised by how much movement we felt on the ship the first few days, but apparently we were in 10 foot seas, so it was warranted.
The food was the BEST cruise food I have ever had. We never ate in the main dining room. We loved O'sheeans (but the wait staff was very slow so don't come if you are starving and you might want to bring your own drink). Wasabi was our favorite and we ate there 3 times. It is a sushi place and so good. There is a nominal charge for the food but I don't think our bill was more than 20 bucks any time we ate there.
The cabin was nicely appointed and although it was a tight fit for the 3 of us, we managed. The shower was clean, although hard to figure out how to turn on and get the jets right without scalding or freezing yourself. The shower pressure was fantastic.
Our steward, Gil, was a gem. He was wonderful with our son.
The bed was comfortable and if it weren't for my husband's snoring, I would have slept great.
The movie channel was great and we only saw one or two repeats the entire week.
There were plenty of outlets to charge phones/tablets etc
We arrived in Miami and boarded the ship with ease. There isn't much else to say, but it requires 150 characters. We were surprised with the ease of embarkation.
