We are US citizens, married 59 years, age 80 & 78. We are seasoned cruisers with more than 45 trips on 6 different lines. We are Crown&Anchor Diamond Plus level with RCI.

Anthem is impressive in size, barely average when compared to other RCI ships for service, food quality, peace and quiet, and comfort.

Technology is the ship's byword. Examples abound like the Itinerary on the in-room tv screen which showed the ship moving at 16 knots and the time as 2230. Technology took a back seat to reality as the ship was DOCKED and it was early morning...about 0630. Example, the overhead lighting in Chic was so dim over our table and almost non-existent at the next table...we actually removed the battery powered candles from their sconce and used them so we could read the supper menu. Example, Spectra Cabaret was SPECTACULAR merging live humans with electronically devised imagery producing mind-boggling entertainment. Example, the recorded music was at screech level and played everywhere making pure peace and quiet impossible to achieve.

Port Reviews

Vigo

Been here before, found nothing new of interest, weather was too windy and chilly for another stroll on the Esplanade so we meandered in the Mall for a while, made a very small purchase and re-embarked Anthem

Southampton

Dined with UK and US friends at local restaurant pre-cruise supper. Reasonable prices, good food and drinks and allowed us to make a LOT of noise at able for 12.
