We sailed from Auckland to Adelaide on this beautiful, elegant ship and were wowed from beginning to end. We were upgraded to a balcony cabin 8103 and thought we were just so lucky. It was roomy, had a balcony which was a bit covered by a lifeboat, but at least we could open the door and sit outside in the sun and get fresh air. The beds were so comfortable, the bathroom considerably more than adequate and the whole stateroom experience was so much better than we expected.
Couldn't fault any services, entertainment, food, facilities or anything about the whole experience.
Camilla, our stewardess was superb and just so helpful. A huge tick to her.
As I said above, we were thrilled with the stateroom and would choose that one again, given half the chance.
Great sight leaving Sydney Harbour in the dark. We are very familiar with Sydney and lunched with family there so it was a good port for us to be in.
Again friends collected us and took us to their home for lunch. But Melbourne is a lovely city and we are familiar with it. Had turned a bit colder by then so we didn't stay outside to watch the City disappear into the night.
As the harbour is too shallow to allow the QM2 to berth, we were anchored outside the harbour and went into Paihia by tender. A first for us and nothing wrong with it either. Did a bit of shopping and were pleased to get back on board "our new home".
We have family in Sydney so lunched with them and stood on deck to watch this wonderful vessel depart from a beautiful harbour. The lights of the bridge and Opera House with the city lights in the background made for a very spectacular departure. Love Sydney and also love the QM2.
We left the ship here having had the bestest time ever. Very disappointed to be arriving at our final destination having enjoyed every aspect of this magnificent vessel. Would love to sail on her again sometime.
