Sail Date: Oct 2008

Went on the Oct 9 sailing to Key West and Cozumel. I'm a second-time cruiser, and SO was a first-timer. All in all, we had a very good time despite some glitches.

Embarkation for us was not a good welcome. Crowded, confused and cattle-like we eventually made our way through the system. Some of the employees were literally shouting "orders" at people. We were herded into a small back section to wait, only to discover that those in charge were overlooking our section and we sat and waited and waited. We finally had to go and tell them that we were still alive back there, because they had already cleared each other section at least once AFTER we had been seated. Only good feature of the experience was they had a small table set up with some drinks and cookies once you got into the hangar-like building.

We had an ocean-view room in the far fore section of the ship on the port side. Only time we really felt a lot of movement was on the way back to Lauderdale on the last night. Quite a bit of rocking but it didn't bother either of us. The cabin itself was very nice - much better than the cabin I had on another cruise line. That goes for the entire ship, IMO. It is much more nicely decorated and is bright and modern - not garish in any way. Plenty of storage space and lots of cubbies to stash stuff. The staff and attendants did a great job of keeping everything clean and tidy. We didn't really have any problems with the shower space/curtain, although I can understand how some might.
