Just returned from the Halloween sailing on the Conquest. This was my 2nd cruise the first being with RCC. I was travelling with a group of extended family and friends. The biggest differences between the two cruise lines I found was the ages of the people (Carnival being a much younger crowd)and the ships decor (The RCC being much more luxurious). I must say I enjoyed the younger crowd. I found the food to be very good. We ate most dinners in the Monet and once at "The Point"(Which was wonderful). There was more food available than I could ever eat. The midnight buffet was spectacular as was the chocolate buffet on Sat. afternoon! Had pizza once and it was good. The hamburgers looked great but didn't try them. Jamaica- we went to Sunset Beach - It is under construction so I found it a little grimy. It was very hot and there was little cover from the sun. We had an ok day but it was not up the standard that I am used to. The beach there was probably the biggest disappointment. The Kids in our group enjoyed the water park. Grand Cayman- We did a private trip to snorkel and see the stingrays. I was a little concerned when many of the trips were cancelled due to the rough seas and we were still going but it was fine and an interesting experience, There were only two other boats there so it wasn't too crowded. We then went to Seven mile beach for lunch and I enjoyed this. Locals told us that it was usually very calm but due to the TS Noel things were pretty wild. This is a beautiful beach and I will go back sometime to see it when it is calm.

Cozumel- This is a great port. We parked side by side with the Valor(a twin ship)which showed off the size of these ships. Just shopped around and ate here but there are some excursions I would like to try in the future. Entertainment: This was the highlight of the trip for me. The two production shows are very different. "Formidable" was postponed to the Tues. night because of the rough seas. This is the Vegas style revue and is very showy, and they change costumes frequently."Point and Click" has a bit of a story with many popular songs. I didn't care for the magician but the dancers saved that show. The welcome aboard show was good and the "Legends" on the last night is fun. This is where the guests that have auditioned at karaoke all week perform. There were some really good singers. The biggest frustration for me was the Spa people phoning our room to try to sell more services. They disturbed my nap a couple of times. The first day was very rough due to the tropical storm and many people were quite ill.Staff said it was one of the worst days they'd had in a while. Both Embark and Debark went smoothly and I was pleasantly surprised after hearing others complain about this. I think if you are well organized it helps alot.
