We flew in to Ft Lauderdale on Sunday and took a taxi to the La Quinta -airport. The hotel was clean and within walking distance to several restaurants. The pool and hot tub bottom were dirty but a storm had come through the day before so that may have had something to do with it. We took a hotel shuttle the next morning to the port at 11:15 and arrived at 11:30. The place was very busy but embarkation was a breeze and we were onboard by noon. Once onboard we immediately went to Chops Grille to make our reservations for Thursday evening then went to check out our stateroom and by 12:30 were having a great lunch at the Windjammer Cafe. Then it was off to explore the ship. Our luggage arrived at around 3:pm and our stateroom attendant George appeared from no where to help us bring it into our room. We went to My Fair Lady for dinner with main seating and had a great meal. Our waiter Erkan from Turkey and Hendre from South Africa made dinner fun and a pleasure. Our table mates were from South Carolina and were fun to be with. Our visit to Key West was fun. We have been there before so we shopped and had a few drinks and lunch at Sloppy Joes. Cozumel was our first time in Mexico and we shopped and had a good lunch. In Belize we shopped at the port had a couple of drinks and headed back to the ship for more food and fun. We had dinner at Chops Grille and it was very good. I have never had a more tender steak. We can't say enough good things about the ship and its crew. It might be an older and smaller ship but the crew and entertainment was awesome. The best show was the Diamonds with music from the fifties and sixties (Our music for sure). All of the shows were good as well as the comedian and magician. The Cruise Director Marc "BING BONG" Walker was fantastic. He went non stop from morning to evening. One interesting event was on our last night when we picked up 16 refugees in a rickety wooden boat off Cuba. It was sad to see people in such a state seeking a better life for themselves. Disembarkation was not as easy. We sat for almost 3 hours waiting to hear our color called. They announced that they had not been cleared by Customs. I assume there was some problem that was encountered by the officials as other people who have cruised before said this was unusual. This was our first cruise and we had such a great time we can't wait to go again on RCCL
