We stayed in the Crown Plaza River Oaks in Houston with a hotel & transfer package. The hotel was very nice. Sat. at 12 we boarded the bus & went to the Bayport Pier. When we've cruised before we always tried to get to the pier very early & get right on the ship, but are always too early to get into our room. We arrived at about 1:30. There was a line outside but it moved Very fast. I was pleasantly surprised. Also we got to go right into our room. Will talk about restaurants first.

Since we ate a later lunch at the garden café I really wasn't in the mood for a big dinner so later we went to O'Shehans. There were only about 4 other tables occupied but the service was very slow. We thought we might leave when a waiter finally came over. It was just okay.

Sat night we went to Tsars. Since it was a formal night (if you wanted it to be), we did have a few minute wait to get in, but that was the only night we waited. We sat at a table with Ayuh as our waiter. She was great & we asked for her the 3 other nights we went back to Tsars. I read some reviews about the wait for food. We did not have that. We always each had 2 appetizers, an entrée & Ayuh always would pick another for us to split, desert, coffee & after dinner drinks & we were out in 1 hr.

I've read through other reviews trying to find out this info so I will change up the format & go right to it. First, yes there is a coffee pot in the balcony rooms which I love. No need to have room service at a particular time or to get dressed & go up to the buffet just for coffee which we have done many times. Loved having our coffee on the balcony.2.Space in a balcony room & mini suites is very limited & there is always a lot of paper from the daily schedules, shore excursion info & other cluttering up the dresser & desk. The walls in the room are metal (they don't look like it so I had my doubts but happy when they stuck) so with clip magnets you can put all the papers you have lying around & hang them up. I took 2. Works great.3. None of the rooms have clocks & this bugs me, so I take my own. I set it on the counter so day or night I know what time it is. Make sure it's illuminated.4. Also a splitter is helpful since there's only 2 plugs in the room. Then you don't have to unplug the clock to use the hairdryer.
