The ECSTASY might be older and a smaller Fantasy class ship however, We were very pleased with our experience aboard her this past week.

We were originally booked in an Ocean View room on deck 7 and were thrilled when a Carnival associate called us a week prior to our departure and offered us an excellent upgrade rate for a Grand Suite on deck 6.

We had already purchased the FTTF (Faster to the Fun) excursion and knowing that having been upgraded to a suite automatically got us priority boarding we decided to keep it for all the other priority benefits it provided,

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

The Grand Suite was an un-expected and much appreciated last minute upgrade offer from CCL. We couldn't turn it down. The Suite itself is on level 6 known as the Upper Deck. Having staterooms on the deck above and below the room was very quiet. Also being located amidships the ships motion was far less noticeable than it would be compared to extreme forward or Aft staterooms. The Grand Suite is spacious and well appointed with upgraded trim, decorations, closet and bathroom amenities. We enjoyed everything about the room itself with the exception that there is only (1) electrical receptacle? Just 1? Yes, So bring a multi-plug adapter or power strip (non surge protected) if you have multiple devices that need recharging. The bedding was very nice and the mattress was equally as comfortable. We slept very well each night. The Towels and bathrobes that were provided were also very good quality and having a jacuzzi style tub (although small) was very nice. The bathroom itself for just the two of us was more than adequate and would have been just a suitable for 3 or 4. There was a nice comfortable couch that converted into a bed. Also a screen that could be used to create privacy between the bed and the convertible if desired.Having two separate clothing closets was very nice. Each provided plenty of hanging space, open cubbies and plenty of drawers. The Balcony:Folks there's nothing like having your own Balcony. Even if you don't get a Grand Suite having a room with a balcony is really nice. The only negative I could mention is really not Carnivals problem but has more to do with young ones taking a joyfull run down the long passageways. Kids will be kids and there's nothing wrong with that...
