As this was our 3rd Carnival cruise, it was by far the worst. The food in the MDR was no where near what we had on previous CCl ships. It was hit or miss. WE ordered some of the same dishes multiple times and it was like the luck of the draw as to what you got. Like prime rib night, we all ordered med rare, and it came out across the spectrum. The ice tea tasted different every night, some nights even having a slight chlorine taste. But, we also had odd smelling fish, multicolored lamb shanks and a myriad of various oddities.

This was supposed to have been a celebration cruise for my son, who just received his Doctorate. I felt so ashamed to have encouraged him to come on this voyage.

The ship also does not enforce the no smoking ban, as we could smell smoke in the hallways as well as having butts and ashes flicked on us from the cabins above ours. The hallways were strewn with used food trays and bowls and plates. No one seemed to want to keep a clean house. There was one pile of rubbish that was in the corner of the elevator lobby when we left the ship one morning, and still there when we returned from port that evening. Not a very Clean ship.

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

This was our first Grand Suite on a carnival vessel and will be our last. After buying in to an upgrade to really enjoy our family of 4 cruise, we were all greatly disappointed. The mattress on the pull out sofa was so bad, my 2 sons were having backaches. The curtains next to my bed were full of odd stains that had a sour smell. They eventually came a removed curtains for a day to be cleaned. the large balcony, which was supposed to be one of the highlights, was not enjoyed as much. Wave after wave of smoke drifted by as butts from above fell onto the balcony. we called security, and the saw them smoking from our balcony, but told us they could not enforce the rule unless they caught them smoking. Really? I thought you just did that! But the worst thing about cabin 7315, was the gurgling bidet, toilet and sink, that made noises 24/7 and emitted foul odors. we contacted guest relations, who sent the plumber, who told us this was normal. So, all in all, i rate this cruise at a 1 at best. I would not recommend this one.
