We love cruises - 15 or so has been taken so far. 6 last ones on RC ships and I have always liked them best. But this time it was very different.

The cabin and the ship are very dated. The cabin in particular needs major renovation - peeling walls, rusted shower. But that is not the major issue for us - we are low maintenance people. The problem was the food - which is very surprising for the same reason [low maintenance]. The food this time [as oppose to only 2 years ago] was very different. Seafood salads, lox, good fish [cod, salmon, others] were not available during lunch or breakfast. Red meat and pork every day. Fried chicken twice during the lunch time and when I asked for a chicken or a salmon burger [as oppose to greasy beef], I was told that those are not offered. Very limited / poor selection of fresh veggies and fruits but plenty of sausage and greasy beef and pork for breakfast and lunch. There were days when I could not any decent protein for lunch - at all.

The coffee mugs were very dirty - coffee and lipsticks rings on the clean ones. Had to look thru 5-6 of them to find one that was not that dirty. Not surprisingly the most popular size of the T-shorts sold on the ship was 2XL. And, as it appeared, this is the crowd the cruise was catering to.
