Two couples travelled together, from LAX to Boston overnight on Virgin America (Nothing special). We have now cruised 13 times, on all the major lines, and Viking and American Queen included; but first time on NCL. It was as good as any of the usual suspects but not great. Took the (free) 66 bus from Logan to the Hilton water taxi stop. Had breakfast at the Hilton and the took the Rowe's Wharf water taxi. For $25 pp they will store your luggage and then take you to the ship pier (200-300 years to the boat from there) later. We walked much of the Freedom Trail all the way up to Old Ironsides and back, then they took us to the ship ( a great way to do it). Check-in, around 2:30, went fast which no crowds. Had a hamburger at the Bimini Grill and then to the cabin. Neval, called us by name right a way (wow!). Later in the Atrium Bar/coffee bar, Irene learned our names and never forgot the four us on the whole cruise.

Speaking of the Atrium, we loved the little bar but it is too small and they hold too many/too popular musical performances (mostly trios). It gets way too crowded and people hog the Blue Lagoon tables and even the internet café areas above during these performances. They need to move these people into the Spinnaker and only have a piano in the Atrium.

Speaking of bars; we love a cocktail/glass of wine in the afternoon or early evening and there is not a really decent bar, especially with a view, on the ship (probably the worst ship we have been on for such). For the weather on our cruise the outside bars were not much of an option and most of the others id not open till 5:30; what is up with that?

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Cabin and balcony was average size but shower was biggest we have ever had, except in a suite. OK for two but I could not ever put anyone else in any one of these cabins. Steward, Neval, was very good (but our experience is that they tend to be the nicest people on any ship). Near aft location was fine but this cabin and those on each side suffer from having the linen storage across the hall. Hence, there is a lot of coming and going and chatter among the stewards in the morning. The hall was otherwise quiet, nothing like the Sunshine last year which was like a party on the 405 even at midnight.
