We read a lot of reviews of the Epic before we left, and i mean a lot. Its not often that i'd put pen to paper (so to speak) but the Epic gets largely mixed reviews so feel the need to add my opinion.
The Ship - The clue really is in the name. Its Epic. Its huge. It carries an awful lot of people. All these things you can easily find out about before booking your holiday, so be prepared. Due to its Epic nature some of the public areas can yet busy. If thats not your idea of heaven then plan carefully. Between 6am and 8am and 8pm and Midnight the outside areas are quiet and you can easily get some time to yourself.
The Food - Avoiding the crowds is easy. Don't turn up to the buffet at Midday on a sea day and expect to be able to find a table with ease, don't go for dinner at 8pm to a non-bookable restaurant and whine about having to wait. Go slightly earlier or later. We generally had an early breakfast (7am) and an early dinner (6pm) and never had an issue or problem - the food is around until 10pm so you can always nip back for a snack! As with all such buffets things can get busy, some people shove and some people look mortified that you might take the last bit of grilled chicken (calm down, they're cooking another 20!) but the buffet food was good, with a wide range, and frequent speciality nights.
Great quiet location, wonderfully sound proofed. Down a small corridor with only a few other cabins meant foot traffic outside was less. More storage than you could know what to do with. The near-famous, and much berated, EPIC bathroom arrangement wasn't a problem for us.
