Sail Date: Sep 2013

This was our second cruise with Princess Cruises and following a city break in Vancouver we set sail from Canada Place and in the early evening set ail for Los Angeles passing Stanley Park on our port side and then under the Lions Gate Bridge. The start of a very enjoyable 18 days of cruising. We were in cabin A528 on the Aloha Deck having decided prior to the cruises that the port side would be the preferable side to view our ports of call as well as the transit through the Panama Canal. We had the late dining option in the Provence Dining Room where the table service was just fair and the table location directly near a cold downblast of air conditioning. However, the food was good and our table companions engaging. so much so that we missed many of the late entertainment showings. We even had the pleasure of the ship's first engineer for most of the cruise and his interaction helped make up for the general poor table service. We visited the Bayoux Restaurant on one occasion and would definitely recommend that as a paid dining extra. The Promenade Deck on the Coral Princess goes all the way round, is wide with nice wooden deck chairs and well used by fellow passengers to help get rid of some of those excess pounds gained at the Horizon and other dining venues. The ports of call on this journey were good and the shop sales on board on the 'at sea days' were better than usual as this ship was relocating from one cruising area (Alaska) to another (Panama & Western Caribbean). Staff were friendly.

Cabin Review

Good size cabin area and bathroom with better than average storage areas. Balcony was OK but covered and not suitable for sun bathing. Excellent views of the Panama Canal, seabirds and dolphins.
