NCL has the cruise business down to a science. We have cruised over 30 times and are relative new to NCL. After cruising on the Epic in January of 2014 and the Getaway in March of 2014, NCL is our new favorite line. From the ease of embarking to the comfortable life boat drill to the great eating options and the wonderful entertainment, NCL is head and shoulders above the other lines. The Getaway is extremely easy to manuver. Our balcony cabin was aft (which I would highly recommend) and was very comfortable and thank goodness NCL has gone back to self contained bathrooms. They have reduced the size of the balconies which is not a problem for us, however, I wish all cruise lines would prohibit smoking on balconies. Our neighbors sat on their balcony at night and smoked very heavily, so we basically could not use ours while they were on theirs because of the thick nasty smoke. Only time we wish we had an inside or OV cabin!

NCL's entertainment is the best in the business. Have got to see Burn the Floor, Legally Blond, Howl at the Moon, comedians Quinn Dahle & Pete Correale, Summer Breeze duo and the Illusionarium show. The four free restaurants and the buffet are very good and couldn't see paying extra for the specialty restaurants. We can pay for those type of restaurants at home. The free Tropicana restaurant is a dinner show so make sure to get good seats to see the show.

The main pool is very hectic and crowded. Go to the Spice H2O area at the back of the ship on deck 16 for a quiet place to sun, read and visit....the crowd gets out about 9:30am, so get there before that to get good spots.

Cabin Review

Great location near aft elevators.
