We got what we thought was a terrific offer from Carnival. Just over $1,000 for an 8 night cruise (balcony) including insurance.. The Splendor was a pretty ship and our stateroom was nicely decorated.

I will start with the positive. The nightly shows were terrific. A very hard working, talented group of performers. The Steakhouse (for a small additional charge) was wonderful. It was like eating in a 5 star restaurant. The crew was friendly and very helpful. A nice group of people. Dinner in the main dining room was fine. Nice selection of entrees. The Brunch was great with a varied selection of items both for breakfast and lunch.

Now, the not so good. The buffet for lunch and dinner was served. On one of the last nights, I was served two fried shrimp and one broccoli floret . I know I could have asked for more but I shouldn't have too. the salads remained covered with plastic wrap with people digging in and making a mess. The pizza was like a very thin and not tasty. This part of the food service needs to be upgraded. Do not waste your money on internet minutes. I paid over $50 and was able to connect for only 10 minutes. The crew said they have the same problem and have to pay for minutes also. PHOTOS EVERYWHERE and not just on formal nights. You can't walk without bumping into a photographer. Compared to other ships, there was scant entertainment by the pool. A large screen where concerts were played. It took over 3 hours to disembark in NY. Everyone was complaining.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was roomy and very comfortable. Gilbert, our cabin person, was attentive and friendly we were very satisfied with this aspect of our trip.
