We (both 48 years old) sailed on the Grand Princess on December 2, departing from Galveston and stopping in Costa Maya (Mexico), Roatan (Honduras), Belize City (Belize), and Cozumel (Mexico). This was our fourth cruise and our third on Princess.
Getting There
We flew into Houston's Bush International Airport the day before the ship departed, so we could start enjoying the ship as soon as we could board. From Houston, we took Houston Professional Airport Shuttle for $35 each to Galveston, staying at the Quality Inn on the Seawall ($115 including tax). This included a continental breakfast and was close to a Kroger grocery store and a Mexican restaurant. The next morning we took a cab ($12 excluding tip) to the port, arriving about 12:10 p.m. The embarkation process was very efficient, better than in Ft. Lauderdale, where our last cruise departed from. Within a half hour or so, we were aboard. Most passengers, naturally, were from Texas, though we did meet others from California, the upper Midwest, and the East Coast.
