We have just returned from the Radiance of the Seas December 28th New Year's voyage and after 68 cruises, we have finally found PERFECTION AT SEA. Not only is the hardware elegant, but the ship is the best run that we have found to date.
For those of you who are accustomed to sailing on Royal Caribbean vessels, let me first say that the Radiance of the Seas is far from the norm in every aspect. With 3/4 of an acre of glass this ship is exquisite. Every inch of glass was immaculate which is amazing. The Windjammer Cafe was by far the best in the fleet and the selection at all meals was that of going to a Five Star Buffet on land. Because of the configuration of the Windjammer there was never a line. The selections ranged from the standards to grilled to order steaks, osso bucco, Mongolian Barbecue, Sushi Bar, Freshly made pasta to order, etc. The salad bar had a selection of at least 15 different choices and was fresh every minute of the day. The food was served hot which is different from any other Windjammer we have seen.
The two alternative dining choices Chops Grill and Portofino were as good or better than any restaurant on land and for a mere $20 per person which barely covers the gratuity to the staff, one can eat beautifully prepared gourmet meals in an ambiance which befits a Prince and Princess.
