This was our second Carnival cruise. The first was three years ago to Acapulco, Ixtapa and Manzanillo. This cruise was to Cabo San Lucas for two days and to Puerto Vallarta for one. It actually left from Long Beach, not L.A.We (70 & 65)traveled with our daughter (44), son-in-law (47) and their two kids (18 & 15). Our 15 year old granddaughter met several new friends and enjoyed herself most of the time. Our 18 year old grandson wandered aimlessly, tried some gambling and "hung out" with his dad and me when ashore. He seemed bored on the ship, but it was his choice not to seek companions.
The staterooms were fine - plenty large, well serviced and clean.
The food was extremely disappointing. As usual, there was plenty and enough choices, but everything, every day was way overcooked. Most of the time, all the food was served at room temperature - not good for potatoes, meat, vegetables, etc. Ice cream was always soupy and half melted - not good. The wait staff was not nearly as accommodating as they were on our last cruise.
Cabin 6339: Ample living and closet space. Small balcony but adequate for two people. Constant slamming of doors was loud and annoying.
