Background: DH and I are in our early 30s. We've been on been on 7 cruises previously, but this was our first in a few years. Grandma offered to watch the kids, so we booked this weekend getaway.
Embarkation
Embarkation at the NY pier was pretty awful. Got there right around noon and had to wait about 30-45 min to get through security. Once through they had us sit in a section of chairs and just told us to wait. Meanwhile, all the people just entering the terminal walked by us (presumably to check in). No pier employees around to ask, so after sitting for a while and getting frustrated, we just went up to the next section where the check-in desks were. It was a madhouse! No organization at all. Once we saw the sign for Casinos-at-Sea, we were checked in relatively quickly, but the embarkation could have definitely gone better.
