We chose Victoria again as it was going to Rio de Janeiro including a long trip along the Amazon. We started from Southampton and flew back from Rio. The ship carried on finally returning to Southampton. On board all food in the Britannia, Lido and Verandah restaurants was excellent. Staff service in all areas was also excellent. The ship's condition was very good overall and for those yet to ...
The service in the Britannia restaurant was as great as always. But the weather across the Atlantic was dreadful. We were late into Bermuda and Port Canaveral. The Churchill cigar lounge was full of cigarette smokers and resembled the Dog and Duck pub rather than an intimate cigar lounge as it is advertised. Day activities were poor and because of the weather the decks were often closed. ...
We chose this cruise to get some winter sun without needing to fly. The ship is fabulous and most of the staff were 2nd to none though we felt there could have been more staff especially in the Britannia restaurant where they were rushed off their feet. .
Embarkation was very smooth and hassle free. We were in our cabin in no time and our luggage arrived soon after. The cabin was accessible and ...
A customary trip to the Caribbean in Princess grill, the suite was fine with a very efficient cabin attendant, the kitchens made a good efforts with the food and the service in the Princess Grill was commendable. The Concierge Seltran Ebillo was personable and efficient. The evenings entertainment was good particularly from the group called the Rewind Project.
However the trip itself ...
we were picked up by coach and had a great journey down and embarkation was quick and easy.
The ship was great and the food was excellent.
The entertainment was very good but we are getting a bit fed up of Roy Walker who seems
to have been on every cruise we have had.
We had a couple of stormy days one was a force 10 the day after leaving Ponta Delgarda
and the other one was ...
Wife did not want to fly long distance to winter sun.
This was good value for money, no flying and no luggage restrictions.
The ship was excellent, crew very attentive, entertainment good and varied, food good, weather variable but warmed up as we neared the Caribbean. Been there many times so did no tours. Appreciated the presence of a bridge director for organised duplicate competitions on ...
First of all I apologise in advance to all the Cunard lovers on here.
Start with the positives (this won't take long!).
It was cheap deal!
House band quite good.
Balconies large.
Table tennis and Paddle Tennis
Had one nice curry in the buffet.
That's it.
Negatives
We should have known after our recent wonderful experiences with Viking Ocean Cruises that it was going to ...
1. Price!
2.. The food was very good indeed and I am fussy(!) I do not eat pork products and I was supplied each night with the menu for the following day to choose and some dishes were certainly made specially. The vaiety was very good. I did ask on 2 occassions for kedgeree and although they said its not normal in Britannia dining room to have specially made dishes they did it and it was ...
The overall package was very good value for money. The opportunity to sail around South America through the Magellan Straits, including a voyage up the Amazon to Manaus, plus a crossing of the Pacific past Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, Bora Bora and others on the way to Auckland and Sydney was very attractive.
Cunard prides itself on its history and standards, but this is somewhat of a ...
This was the longest cruise we had ever done and I wasn't sure we would find enough to do during all the sea days. I certainly needn't have worried, the days just flew by, if it wasn't our best cruise it came pretty darn close.
Check in in Southampton was smooth and quick, we arrived at the port at our allotted time and within minutes we were on board. No sooner had we checked out our cabin ...
