Cabin We initially booked an inside cabin, but the offer of an irresistible upgrade took us to a verandah cabin overlooking the stern on deck 6. The cabin was compact, and we needed to co-ordinate our movements to avoid collisions. We noticed that the finish on some of the cupboards was poor – one wardrobe door was a poor fit. The bathroom was larger than the one attached to our cabin on the sister ship, but the shower lacked the useful wooden platform we found on the Nieuw Statendam. TIP: because the shower stall does not always drain well, at times the floor tiles can become quite slippery. We noticed a musty smell in shower stall, probably caused by the high glass door and poor ventilation. We did not find a successful way of keeping the shower door open to improve the ventilation. During the bumpy crossing from Amber Cove to Gran Turk, we discovered water gurgling up from the shower drain into the stall. Our cabin stewards Osman and Adi were always happy, cheerful and polite - excellent. Read Less

Deck 4 (Beethoven), third cabin from front end of hallway. A connecting door to 4003 which we did not use. Voices and some cabin noise audible through the door. Extra large balcony which extends across the width of Promenade deck below. People on decks above can look down onto the balconies of these Deck 4 cabins except for the area just outside the door. Noise and vibrations from bow thrusters, anchor being raised and lowered, and other loud sounds from working areas just below and ahead of these cabins. Although these cabins are directly above the front of the World Stage theatre there was no noise audible in the cabin. Adequate size for two, but would be crowded with a third person on the fold out couch bed. Position of toilet in the bathroom is awkward, causing one to sit a little sideways because of proximity to shower. There was a large walk in shower instead of a bathtub. There is an automatic nightlight at floor level in the cabin, motion activated, to help find the bathroom at night. It goes off by itself after a couple minutes. Storage was adequate but not generous, and there is space under the bed for suitcases. Read Less

Deck 4 (Beethoven) Verandah's are double the size as the above decks. However, were above the Dining Room and Service doors, so could hear banging when coming into port and when workers used those doors. However, the noise was acceptable, as I wear ear plugs normally anyways, and you could enjoy the Verandah with a great breeze and shade when travelling eastwards. I'd choose it again. Read Less

Greek Island Cruise : Cabin 8009
Comfortable but a tad smaller than what we're used to. Love the bathroom with the large shower. There seems to be a lot of space for your clothes but this is misleading as the drawers are very narrow.

Incredibly comfortable king bed, love seat, desk and chair and roomy veranda outside of french doors with two chairs a table and a footstool. Loved reading out there or just relaxing with a glass of wine after our tour or sightseeing. The bathroom was great and we had more storage in the room than we actually used. Our stewards were of the "seen but not heard" family, and they left the vaunted "towel animal" on the bed each night. The best was the last night with a Monkey hanging from the ceiling! LOL. The floor lighting was a terrific addition at night when using the bathroom. The shower was very roomy and the controls and "rain" shower head easy to use. 5 star. Read Less

Sorry. Don’t remember cabin number or specific type but it was extended balcony on 4th deck. Loved the spacious balcony and what seemed to be a slightly larger bathroom. Very clean.

The cabin was a little tight, but functional. We split the beds into twins. The little sofa wound up a storage area, the cabinets were good storage. The bathroom was small....had to sit off-angle on the toilet. The shower was large and wonderful. Towels could be used to sand hardwood......very stiff and scratchy. The balcony was ok, with two chairs, an ottoman and a small table. Location was high and well to the front, so there was a bit of movement when the seas came up. Read Less

We booked a row of standard balcony cabins on the Gershwin deck aft (Deck 5). The cabins were close to elevators that took us to the main dining room, lido deck buffet, Tamarind restaurant and sea view pool deck. I usually prefer a mid-ship location, but since we booked late, this was not too bad location wise. The cabins are beautiful with a light wood minimalist decor. The storage space is amazing - tons of drawers, generous closet, you will have plenty of space for all your stuff. Like the little corner bar with a glass cabinet. Good size minifridge with plenty of space to put your own items in addition to what is already stocked. The bed was very comfortable and king-sized! The room is compact but very well laid out and comfortable. Lots of movie choices on the large flat screen TV. The bathroom was well appointed and the shower is amazing! Glass enclosed and rectangle shaped so you are not dealing with a tiny corner and wet curtain like I have experienced on other ships. Read Less

Smaller than before. Bad mattresses. Television not working for 2 days. Bathroom like a rectangle and toilet at a bad angle and no night light for easy access during the night.
