Friendship gathering from 50 years ago, 1968 and just a get away. Embarcation was as easy as 1,2,3. and debarkcation was as simple as 1, 2, 3!! Having adjoining cabins was a plus and the extra large balcony on deck 7. Again the service, food both in the Windjammer buffet and the anytime dining was excellent. Had a very nice, ejoyable dinner in the Chopps resturant. The two main shows we attended ...
The adults' version: "The ship is beautiful! Loved the staff members and loved the kids club. The kids had a blast. Good restaurants, great service, minimal wait time. The theater performances were very amateur and the movie choices were not attractive at all. Not so much to do for adults."
Now since the kids had a blast, my 10-year-old son decided to write a review. And here's his ...
Summary: Slow service, aging ship, minimal entertainment, and mediocre food.
The highlights -
The cabin was clean and decent. Junior suite, which means a balcony cabin with a slightly larger foot-print and a tub instead of a shower. The steward was attentive and friendly - almost to the point of exhaustion. We found ourselves breathing a sigh of relief if we made it to or from the room ...
I have no previous cruise experience so comparisons aren't fair, but this cruise on the Serenade of the Seas was the greatest week ever. Much of that is due to the family experience with all my brothers, sister and parents. However, Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas made it all possible with stellar service in every category. Embarkment went smoothly with friendly staff at all points. The ...
We take a family cruise (10 of us) each year to get the grandkids together for fun and relationship building. We chose this cruise because the dates aligned with the Presidents Weekend holiday. Very disappointed in the dining room food, casino and bar service.
The first two dinners in the dining room were terrible. Meat was tough and tasted terrible. Fish was dried out and not ...
Went for a cruise deal, but everything was less than expected. The food, the service, all around things were the worst I have experienced from Royal Caribbean. Usually the cruise line doesn't disappoint me, but it was a ship not well maintained and with the bare minimum of on board entertainment. Buffet food was perfectly fine, dining room food and service were surprisingly a big let ...
We chose RC because friends recommended them. After reading we decided it was worth the try, this is cruise number 8 for us and we wanted to try something different.
Room:
First I have to say the stateroom attendant was very well balanced with present when needed and hidden when not. When we did need him he was very prompt and complete. The room seemed a bit smaller than most we've been ...
We wanted a smaller, intimate ship so that was our reason for choosing the Serenade of the Seas. Food in main dining room was really bad and inedible. My sister's chicken dish was obviously microwaved and inedible. The lobster was overcooked and tough. The appetizers were generally good but the second time that I ordered escargot it was cold. The staff had attitudes except for our cabin ...
I chose this ship because of the size. The size has it benefits and draw backs. First the benefits; Getting around and finding your way is a breeze and the personal service, the staff is much more friendlier on the smaller vessels than the larger ships in Royals fleet. The atmosphere is a lot less frantic. There is more time for personal service and conversation. Even the Captain walked ...
We had a fabulous time on this cruise. It was the fastest 7 nights ever! The furnishings and art work on the ship were beautiful. The cabin was lovely and appeared to be recently refurbished. The food in the dining room was good and the dining staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the entertainment. The Royal Caribbean singers and dancers were very good. The comedy shows ...
