I was actually looking for a 12+ night cruise and I chose this cruise as it was going around New Zealand. I have travelled a fair bit of New Zealand by land and thought it would be nice to see some of the hard to get to places from the sea i.e. Gisborne, Dunedin, Milford. This was a re positioning cruise to Sydney. It was a 7 night cruise and I saw the following cruise went around Tasmania, so I ...

As promised, here I come with my detailed review of the Explorer Dream. On 2 Feb, we boarded the cruise at Auckland. We thoroughly enjoyed right from the time we checked in our luggage. Contrary to my doubts that there would be a long queue waiting for baggage drop, I was pleasantly surprised that there was hardly any que and the helpers were too quick to take my luggage from me. Then came the ...

My wife and I booked this cruise on impulse on a one day special. This ship normally operates in the Asian market The Ship had been recently upgraded and was overall good. Lacked a quiet lounge for reading, relaxing.and conversation. The ship has upmarket palace rooms, they have there own exclusive restaurants and pool area. The other cruises we've been on have the expensive rooms but ...

Over a week, Sunday to Sunday, we went down and up the east coast of NZ. We were scheduled to circumnavigate NZ - going down the west coast after going past Cape Reinga, and then into Doubtful and Milford Sounds in Fiordland, but very big swells (reputedly 8 metres) forced a change of plans. EVERYONE was really disappointed, as the Fiordland part was a main attraction, but better to be safe. ...

Lots of pros, very few cons, would give a 4.5 overall rating if it was an option

We went on the Explorer Dream Christmas cruise around New Zealand. We were attracted to it because it looked different and made an early booking. Then as reviews rolled in about the initial cruise to and around Australia we grew apprehensive. We needn't have, we thoroughly enjoyed the week. Highlights included the excellent service and friendliness provided by the crew from restaurant staff to the ...

Choose cruise on price and destination Layout, size of the ship, staff, entertainment and food excellent. Embarking at Whites Bay was a nightmare as we were relying on public transport. Decided to use Captain Cook ferry and continued on the long walk to the terminal. No time was wasted on embarkation, whole process maybe 15 minutes. Cabin excellent level 5 close to lifts. Spacious ...

We liked the itinerary and were keen to discover a new ship. Our initial impression of the ship was it was well refurbished although the cabins were small they were well laid out and had plenty of storage. We had a balcony cabin which had a kettle and a fridge which both came in handy during our voyage. The cabins were well serviced in line with other cruise ships. There are lots of restaurants on ...

PALACE AMAZING, THE REST IMPROVED ALONG THE WAY

This review would mainly be based on ‘The Palace’ which I would highly recommend. 14 nights, Singapore-Jakarta-Bali-Darwin-Cairns-Gladstone-Sydney. As this was a maiden voyage of this cruise line touring out of China, communication was the biggest hurdle. Once we got to the right port, check in seemed very unorganised. We chose a Palace Suite which was an upgraded package, and was advertised "A ...
