We chose this cruise as part of a family group and for it being a Mediterranean cruise. It was our first time on Celebrity, but we have travelled on many other cruise lines, primarily on Princess. Being near the end of season, we got a great deal that included gratuities and the classic drink package as well as our shipboard credits. Part of the reason for writing this review is Celebrity's feedback questionnaire. While we wanted to give feedback, our group all noticed that there was no place to really do so, except to leave "press worthy" comments for marketing. First, let me say that the ship is scheduled for a refit, and there were the signs that this is needed. Just saying... Here are bullet points on what I learned about Celebrity. - The upcharges on celebrity are much higher than Princess and Holland America. Drinks, specialty dining, and even shore excursions are 30% higher on Celebrity. - Buy the drink package. We upgraded to the premium package, and felt good about it. The package for just water is $16 USD per day. Yikes. -The specialty dining experience was twice the price of Princess and HA. The food was dry, and both my wine and water glass were empty for 15 minutes. I would have been happier if I could have refilled my own glass. We stayed happily in the main dining room after that where the service and food were great. - The shore excursions had discrepancies from the advertised itineraries and what actually occurred. I asked about the Valencia city tour for my wife and I, and I was told that there was 20 minutes of walking, We decided to pass due to my wife's mobility. My brother did this tour, and it included 2 hours 45 minutes of walking.Again- YIKES - On the positive side, every crew member was happy, smiling and friendly. This is clearly a sign of a well run ship. - Embarkation and disembarkation is tied for the easiest we have every had. Read Less

I have been on 21 cruises, 11 with Celebrity and 10 with RCCL, so I know how Celebrity standards should be and what they weren't on this cruise. The Constellation was built in 2002 and it shows. She is going into refurb in March 2020, but only for cosmetic updates and not mechanical fixes. In the meantime, Celebrity is doing NOTHING to keep the ship in good condition. There is visible rust everywhere, the furnishings around the ship are very worn, the balcony furniture looks like it came from a garage sale. For room service one morning, I was served moldy berries. Gross! The room service food was hit or miss, but mostly missed the mark for quality, accuracy of the order, and hot food. The cabins on deck 11 are Aqua Class, and they are not part of the original design. The rooftop terrace with the outdoor movie theater is directly above these rooms and they have movies blaring 12 hours a day, every day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and you can hear the noise from the balcony but not from inside the room. This was a really bad idea to shove Aqua Class rooms in this location. Blu restaurant is insufficiently staffed. It was difficult to have a meal in less than 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If you tried to get a table between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m., there was 1 to 1 1/2 hours to wait. This was unacceptable and frustrating. Since Celebrity added the cabins on Deck 11, there is now too many people in Aqua Class to fit into Blu. The Oceanview Cafe (buffet) food has improved a bit, but the dining room is so very hot, so I ate outside whenever possible. The ports on this itinerary were great! The shore excursions are ridiculously priced through Celebrity if you book closer to the cruise date, but I booked my excursions as soon as they were released, so the pricing was fair. Some excursions tripled in price by the time of the sailing. The quality of the excursions was very good and enjoyable. The downside is the motor coach experience because there's so many people. If you don't have a Celebrity tour, they charge $5 to $15 for port shuttles into town. This is another nickle and dime tactic that I don't appreciate. Transportation from the ship should be free. The theater shows were not very good and it seems Celebrity is cutting back on quality here. Karen is the shore excursions director and oftentimes she was giving us the wrong information about the ports, but you didn't realize it until you got to the port. Her presentations of the ports were unorganized and scattered. Graeme, the Captain's Club host, was a delightful fellow and very helpful. He has a great personality and lots of smiles. This will be my last sailing in the Millennium class of ships. I'll stick to Solstice class ships. Read Less

This is the 2nd cruise we sailed with Celebrity, we were impressed with Eclipse last year and decide to join another cruise with Celebrity. This is a slightly smaller and older ship than the Eclipse, but we still had a lot of fun in this 9 nights cruise trip. First of all, we love the shows at night, the performances, singer and dancers did a fantastic jobs, we caught the show every evenings and make sure we don't miss it. The onboard activities were Okay, a lot of them are the same as what we played last year, so it is a bit lack of surprise for us, but the games are still fun to watch. We still had a great time. We did not go to the specialty dinning, so we stayed at St-Marco Dinning room for your dinner. They updated the menu everyday with plenty of choices. We tried a lot of different food everyday and they had Lobster Tail and Scallops which are my favorite! We also had our breakfast and sometimes lunch and snacks at OceanCafe, honestly the food are getting a bit boring. They did change their Chef Specials everyday, but other than that, the other food in the buffet was very similar everyday. With a cruise of 9 nights, you may get bored. My wife went to their morning sketch a couple of times early in the morning, but other dance or yoga class has to pay, so we skipped that. The gym was clean and the machines were fairly new. They have a basketball court, which is often forgotten by a lot of guests. I spent a good 45 minutes there while at the sea. The basketball are a bit old and some of time are not pumped. Service was great, there were officers teaching us to use the new App on Board, which is very useful to see the daily activities and communicate with your cruise mates and family on board. Most of the staff are very friendly and had smile with them at all time. However, my steward's job was really bad. First, she never come greet us or come talk to us during the 9 nights of the cruise. Second, she always forgot stuff in our room. For example, we had no agenda for a couple day, toiletries not refilled, no clean towels. Dirty cups are not taking away, etc. It was horrible, and we decide to talk to the guest relation after 1 week. They sent a steward supervisor to talk to us and apologized, and they gave us a follow call the days after to make sure our room and supplies are Okay. I would say that it could be just a bad individual who didn't properly do her job and not Celebrity's standard. Overall, the ship is clean and easy to navigate. We like Celebrity and have great experience at the ship, but we like to see Celebrity creating more new activities, providing more and different foods in OceanCafe daily, so it keep their guest impressed with this Premium Cruiseline.
