I traveled with my family of 6 and two other families for a total of 7 adults and 10 kids ages 3-13. We found the embarkation process quick and easy. Our rooms were comfortable (our family had adjoining rooms) with plenty of storage space - be sure to check under the sofa for two big drawers. Our room steward - Ma'Mun - was friendly and attentive. I was surprised to discover that he knew our names by day two! Our kids enjoyed the free room service for nightly milk and cookies (free until 10 pm). We dined at 6 pm each evening in the Blush dining room. We had 2 rounds tables and most nights, allowed our kids to take over one table. Our waitstaff (Leslie) went over and beyond to provide superb service to us all. They were very friendly, helpful and patient with the kids. The kids enjoyed acting like big people by placing their own orders and had fun chatting with each other. They loved 'Showtime!' and dancing with the waitstaff. It was fun trying new food, and the chocolate melting cake and baked Alaska were fabulous! My favorite entertainment was watching the violin trio Black Diamonds. They were fantastic! Our cruise director Nono was awesome! One of my grandaughters had an opportunity to chat with her and was thrilled to do so. The military event was special and a nice touch. There were three WW II vets on board! Our port of call experiences were enjoyable, again, the off and on boarding process was smooth. Pirate pizza and the self serve ice cream were huge hits with the kids. The burger I had at Guy's was delicious! Our kids spent a ton of time in the Waterworks, ropes course and sports areas. Our grandaughters loved participating in Build a Bear ($40). I did peek into the fitness area - it was surprisingly nice, outfitted with many treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. My only disappointment and complaint is that the smoke from smoking areas permeated most of the ship. Smoking was allowed only n the casino inside the ship, but wafted out into the atrium ad shopping areas. More ventilation is desperately needed. Also, the amount of outside smoking areas on deck 5 made walking the entire promenade unenjoyable by having to walk through smoke infested areas. Although the daytime wait staff were quick to clear tables, I did not see tables being wiped down enough. On the other hand, I did see staff wiping down hand rails on the pool deck during the day. One thing I would do different next time (provided the smoking issue is addressed) is to forgo the Bubbles Package. I do not drink alcohol and did not drink enough pop to justify the expense. I drank no more than 10 sodas all week, sticking mainly to ice water. That amounted to roughly $30 for a Bubbles package that cost me $80. Water, coffee, tea (hot and iced), juices, lemonade and hot cocoa were all available, free and unlimited. Bottom line - our family had a nice trip, but the smoke issue has to be fixed before we will book on the Breeze again. Read Less

Why did we choose this cruise? It was at a convenient time. We disembarked from Norwegian Breakaway and went directly over to Carnival Breeze on Feb.1 2020. The ship was way too cold with freezing air conditioning everywhere. The only escape from the cold was outside in the wind. We both got horrible colds. We noticed other people coughing a lot (so it was not just us). The quality of the food was poor. The dinners seemed to be pre-cooked somewhere else and then just heated up on the ship. Very limited choices of foods. Breakfast cereals were only for kids. All the fresh fruits were un-ripe. The endless lineups for breakfast hot foods were very frustrating. Volume levels of shows and muzak in general was way too loud. No original music in the Theater - only CDs. One country western duo from Australia was very good. SERVICE WAS GREAT (something good to say about the cruise. Read Less

I have been on many cruises - all have been Carnival except I 2. I always choose Carnival because they are "FUN". We chose The Breeze for the itinerary. Truely wish I had stuck to a smaller ship. Not sure if the size of the ship accounts for the poor quality of food, poor service and lack of "FUN" on the Lido Deck. But this was only the minor part of disappointment. The Breeze has festering mold and whatever else in their air system. If it had only been my husband that had major and I do mean major upper respiratory issues - I would account it to his allergies - but reading all the number of upper respiratory issues Guests had on this cruise - it has to be something in their air system. They can't be oblivious to the fact they have an issue - and it is sad that Carnival doesn't do something about it so their Guests don't get sick. We did what we could - we changed rooms with our friends thinking it was the Lysol I sprayed to disinfect the room (yes I use Lysol at home and it doesn't bother my husband), the problem did not go away. We finally stopped room cleaning after the 2nd day hoping that would help - it did not. The only thing that helped was getting off the Ship. I was sick on both sea days - but I do have an open mind - and am accounting it to rough seas and sea sickness. Even reading the number of people who were sick outside of respiratory issues I will still say it was rough seas. I have never written a bad review about Carnival in all the sailings I have taken with them - so I am not one to just write a bad review. This is not to bash Carnival - it honestly is to hopefully stop other Guests from getting seriously ill on their cruise. As I said - the sub par food, lack of "FUN" we have always had on the Lido Deck and the not so happy staff may be accounted to the size of the Ship. Not sure how it can be - but it always hard to manage anything when the Staff grows in size - so I will account this part to the size of the ship. Will I sail on Carnival again - yes - will I sail on the Breeze - absolutely NOT until it goes into complete refurbishment or they cancel a sailing and thoroughly clean their air system and replace carpets etc. We all know this is not going to happen since they will loose revenue and have pissed off Guests who's sailing gets cancelled - so my recommendation is................sail on another cruise line or a different Carnival Ship.
