Have been on over 35 cruises, but this was first for Disney. Went with daughter and grandson. The ship is amazing, but expected to see characters walking around. Not people waiting in line for pics you have to pay for. Cabin was very nice and having 2 sinks was great....room service was good and fast food on deck 11 good. Aqua duck was fun... big let down was food in dining room... breakfast and dinner was awful except filet minuon one night.. I had heard the food was great... I am not fussy, entrees were terrible... must better on rccl.. staff was great except for rooom steward.... forgot many things we asked for and told us on morning of departure as we were leaving room ... you know you have to get out of room by 8... it was 5 til 8.... I will never do Disney again.. way to expensive even with Florida rate... castaway cay was great Read Less

This is our 4th Disney cruise, traveling with three boys ages 5, 4 & 2 years old. We've stayed in the Walt Disney Suite once before, and it really upgrades your trip beyond belief! Concierge on board attentive to details, they care about the smallest details and assure your perfect vacation. The staff that assisted on this trip Angeline, Christine & the infamous Danny. The checkin at Port Canaveral on this trip was a bit disappointing. Usually once they check you in at Concerige they'll give you the lanyards for your cards which never happened, and someone is assigned to walk you on board and take you up to the lounge. The person who escorted us left us at the entrance to the ship, and as we were making our way to the elevators a staff member came and escorted us to an elevator pushed the button and let us go up on our own. Not a huge deal, but sometimes it's the small stuff that's noticed when you're expecting it and it's not delivered. The cruise ship was busy because it was labor day weekend, and lots of kids in their last week of summer vacation with a big bang. Although the crowds were big, the lines were not bad - the character greetings were reasonably timed, cabanas had good service and turned tables quick. We ordered Palos to our room one night, the food came on time and was delicious. Our room attendants were wonderful, attentive, and cared about the integrity of the room and the smiles on our faces. Open bar as always in the lounge 5-10pm, always with generous portions and with wonderful service. The only thing I can say about the lounge (as well as other ships) when I notice someone asking for a specific wine that's pretty common to get - they tell them they don't have it, instead of going the extra mile to grab it from another bar which can easily be done. They prefer not to make clean margaritas because of the time consuming, but they'll do it when it's slow. Cabana, OMG have you had one? This is the FIRST time we've had one, what in the world have we been thinking about not doing this before? It was WONDERFUL! The concerige staff convinced us to get one because they knew we would appreciate it, and they were so right. Our boys really wanted to ride the tram as always, but they do offer golf cart ride from the ship straight to the cabana if desired. Once at the cabana, you can push a button and they will come to your room if you need to order drinks, more towels, anything else you desire or a ride to grab food or go to other parts of the island. Bathrooms are right outside of the cabana. For those traveling with little ones, they have pack n plays already inside for you. It is a MUST HAVE if you can grab one. Do yourself a favor, go on a Disney Cruise....if you don't get the Royal Suite at least consider concerige - it is worth every penny! * Open bar 5-10pm * Conceirge land to assist with reservations prior to arrival & personal requests * Priority walk on and walk off * Conceirge lounge with high quality food spread throughout the day * Unlimted water, sodas, milk, etc in room * Two stateroom attendants, dedicated to concerige suites on each side * Priority show tickets & character tickets * Priority cabana rental The list goes on.............. We sailed the Disney Dream for a 4 night cruise, and all we can say is "WOW!" Disney does cruising right. The entertainment was the best we had every seen on a cruise, and the friendliness and work ethic of the staff was exceptional. We cruised with kids ranging from 6-14, and there was something for everyone. Our oldest loved Vibe and Edge, and our youngest (who usually hate kids clubs) begged us to go back to the Oceaneer Lab again and again. We opted for the late dining (8:15) which was a bit tough for the little ones (6 and 7) but, honestly, we wouldn't have wanted the earlier seating. We heard from other people that they were rushed to be ready for the early dinner, and then their kids would fall asleep during the shows. The late dinner watches the shows at 6:15pm, and they were so fantastic that we would've hated for the kids to be too tired to watch them. Also, having the late dinner seating meant our disembarkation breakfast was at 8 am (not at 6:15! Which is what the early dinner seating gets assigned). Embarkation and disembarkation were flawless. We took the Disney bus to and from the airport, which was about a 40 min drive. TIPS: 1. If your child gets a band for the Oceaneer Club, make sure to return it before 11pm the night before disembarkation. The $12.95 for the band will get credited back to your account. If you forget, your child gets to keep the band but you pay the $12.95. 2. Take the time to get to know your servers, Stateroom host, etc. Disney employees on this ship have the most amazing life stories! And they are such hard working, friendly people. 3. Yes, there are a LOT of kids on this cruise. It's Disney. I've read other reviews where people complain about the number of kids and that the cruise is not adult friendly. In my opinion, there are PLENTY of activities for adults only (Spa, tastings, etc). However, if you want to take a cruise where you don't see kids, don't do Disney. Read Less
