I enjoy sailing on princess, had a great time on the Ruby, the beds and pillows were awesome however I do miss the old menus that were in the dining room, they only had a couple of slides to choose from Plus the entrées I didn’t enjoy what they were offering the old man you had more of a selection to choose from comparing to the new menu. as far as the ship itself it was in good condition the staff was excellent always to accommodate whatever you need. I did enjoy they ice cream/pizza/hamburgers and hotdogs section. Only went to two shows the comedian was great saw his act two nights we did mostly are dining in the horizon buffet which had more of a selection to choose from as far as desserts there was one desert that I really enjoyed which was called grandmas chocolate cake was sorry they didn’t have it more than once. We take about one cruise per year. This one aboard the Ruby Princess was relaxing at best. Fresh from dry dock the ship was refreshed and felt almost new in some venues. The crew contributed to our satisfaction with this cruise. We were lucky enough to have great weather and smooth sailing. There were plenty of choices for dining, entertainment and onboard activities. The demographic was mostly senior couples, some families and few children. We had a mini-suite and ate at two specialty dining options (both were good), otherwise the MDR. The quality of food on Princess has declined but we always can find something that we enjoy. Had to send back menu items back two times. Once at breakfast (eggs were overdone and dried out) and one Indian style entrée that was tasteless. there is Butter rationing happened every night and we had to ask for it every meal. Gym was usually empty, clean and well maintained. Classes overpriced. I don't pay $20 at home.....for a cycle or yoga class. Read Less

The ship had several improvements as a result of its recent Dry Dock. All new carpets thru out the ship. The Grill on Deck 15 by the pool is now called the Salty Dog Grill, its menu has expanded now to include fish tacos and an upscale hamburger which costs $5 but all other menu its continue to be at no charge. The Pizza and Ice Cream area has expanded to include coffee on Deck 15 by the pool. Added several new Pizzas. All rooms now have a large LG Flat Screen TV same has the ones found on the Royal, and Regal. We noticed an upgraded Dining Room menu but the Horizon Buffet seemed to have fewer items. We have done several California Coastal Cruises, Monterey has replaced Santa Barbara. Even thought we had an obstructed cabin near the life boats, we had a great view from this cabin. Read Less
