Summit 14-night Classical Mediterranean Barcelona to Venice, Oct 3 to Oct 17, 2009 Concierge Class 9th deck Background: This trip was the first cruise for my husband and I, and I did quite a bit of research on Cruise Critic and elsewhere prior to selecting this itinerary with Celebrity. We selected this particular itinerary for time of year, length, variety of ports, overnights in Rome and ...

Since this is our first cruise I can't say whether Celebrity Summit is the best ship/cruise line or not. However, I can state that my husband, five year old son and I had a great time and enjoyed the sunshine immensely! First, some positives. We chose a lower deck stateroom as I read you can't detect as much motion as higher up, and we chose not to have a balcony because I am the paranoid parent ...

Embarkation was as smooth as I have ever experienced.  This was our 6th cruise, our first with Celebrity.  We boarded around noon, and nearly walked straight on.  We had done the online check-in.Cabins were nice, we had Concierge class 7197 & 7203.  7203 was fantastic with it's larger aft balcony.  We traded in our two bottles of Champagne for Pinot Grigo by asking guest relations, it wasn't much ...

We go for the destinations and are not shoppers and we don't use the onboard Spa's or the Casino. We are a family of four and we started our Mediterranean cruise in Barcelona. We stayed a few days there before boarding the ship and it was fabulous. Our favorite part of Barcelona was the Park Guell, which featured Gaudi-designs. We also liked the Boqueria (Marketplace) Take advantage of this stop if you can. We paid a taxi from our hotel to get on the ship and we were able to get on board ...

Part I Introduction. I thought that I would write the outline of this review on my laptop during the cruise, but the time or inclination to do so was never there. I am sure that I can recall most of the details though and if I forget anything, it is surely not too important. Let me start off by introducing ourselves. We are Roy (me), 55 years old and Val, 53, from Cape Town, South ...
