Carnival Rome (Civitavecchia) Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

ABOUT US: We are a family of four. Our daughter is seven and our son is five. Our youngest is autistic which certainly gave us a unique perspective on traveling to Europe. This was our kids' first trip to Europe. I apologize in advance for the long review. THE SHIP: Overall, we loved the Carnival Freedom. The two most common criticisms I've heard about the ship was that the dEcor was too garish ...

We flew Continental from our hometown to Houston and connected to Air France direct flight to Paris (9 hours and 45 min flight time). Arrived and several hours later flew, also with AirFrance, to Rome (2 hours + flight time). Good flights, no issues and all of our luggage arrived intact. (70+ of our fellow cruise passengers lost their luggage with Delta). Knowing we were going to be dead tired, I ...

June 5th: Flew from Atlanta (June 4th) and arrived Rome (FCO) June 5th. Flew first class on Delta using frequent flyer miles. Flight time was 10 1/2 hours. Time change was 6 hours earlier than Atlanta time. Took the train to the terminii (train station) for 11 euros each ($15). Don't forget to validate your train ticket at the yellow boxes. Walked to our hotel (Hotel Lirico) stayed overnight for ...

Well, I think that I have finally recovered enough to post my review of what we thought was the best cruise we have taken to date. I'm talking about the May 1st sailing of the Carnival Freedom to the Western Mediterranean. Before I begin posting the details of the cruise itself, I must make a few comments concerning Cruise Critic. This cruise would not have been as successful as it was if it had ...

This was our 8th cruise and 1st one in Europe. We stayed at the Rome Airport Hilton before and after the cruise for our convenience. A new Airport Hilton Garden Inn has just opened, also has the free downtown Rome shuttle and rooms are less expensive. Carnival Freedom is new, but the crew seemed to be some of Carnival's best. We pre-booked some private tours as well as some provided by Carnival. ...

We booked our cruise and travel plus hotel stay in Rome through Carnival. We flew into Rome two days before the cruise so we could sightsee in Rome. We greeted at airport by Carnival representatives and they helped us to the bus waiting outside to take us to the hotel. We had a rather long wait in a hot bus until we were on our way into Rome. We stayed at the Hotel Ciccerone. It was a fairly ...

On May 25 2007 we boarded the Carnival Freedom for a 12 day Mediterranean cruise. We had an interior cabin on the first deck. The room was very nice and comfortable until the banging began. It sounded like your home furnace was backfiring. This occurred every 30 minutes day and night. Needless to say, we didn't sleep the first night. I tried calling someone when I first noticed it happening around ...

Dear all, My mum and I have just returned from 25 May 07 sailing for 12N Grand Med. We have benefited much from the generous sharing from past cruisers, and hope we can pass it on to future people sailing, too. So please pardon this fairly lengthy review. Overall, the trip had been fantastic And we want to thank God for His provision, protection, favor and good health to enjoy the trip! ...

I sailed out on May 25, 2007 on the Carnival Freedom and was not impressed with it. I had been on the Carnival Conquest back in May 2005 and had a much better experience. I have also sailed on Royal Caribbean and this was my 4th cruise. The meal selection on the Carnival Freedom lacks variety. The Grand Buffet was not very grand at all. I had a better Grand Buffet on the Carnival Conquest and ...

Cruise Review, Carnival Freedom, May-2007 We were finally doing it! Traveling with another couple, who are our good friends and neighbor to faraway and distant lands that would be filled with rich history and the beauty that only one can truly appreciate in person. We left on Sunday, Apr. 29, 2007 from Mobile, Al. to Atlanta, Ga., then on to Rome, Italy. The flight was a long 10 hrs, but Delta ...
